For many bloggers sharing their views in elaborate posts is but only one blogging activity. Very often on sites like ours you will find some quick news about an event or an information found on the web. It is increasingly easy to include links and excerpts of useful information with the advent of services like Digg.com, Youtube or Flickr which allow you to add your webfinds to your site.
These short posts are however not of the same nature and quality as “genuine” full-fledged posts authored by the blog’s contributors. It would be useful to have a way to isolate these posts or to somehow highlight the fact that these are webfinds or otherwise short pieces which differ from the blog’s main theme. Enter asides, a technique that allows you to differentiate those smaller link and commentary entries on your blog. The easiest way to implement the technique is to use a theme that supports asides, such as Aquafluid (the theme used on this site) or one of the many K2 variants. Once your asides-compliant theme is installed, go to Wordpress’ “Presentation” tab, choose your theme’s options, and you will see that you can designate a posts category as an aside category. The default option is “NOT SELECTED”, and you can use the little drop-down menu to select the category that should be treated as an aside.
Once you have done so, you will see that the entries posted in the category which you have designated as an aside will have a different appearance on your homepage. They will however retain their normal appearance when viewed on other pages in your website. In some themes, like the one used on White Bulgaria, you can even use a widget to have the asides appear in your sidebar, which is a nice feature of the K2 theme.

I agree that this sort of thinking and extreme behaviour is unhealthy. ,
