North America Hotels

The continent of North America can be divided geologically into four large regions: the Great Plains which stretch from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian Arctic; the geologically youthful mountainous west including the Rocky Mountains, the Great Basin, California and Alaska; the raised flat plateau of the Canadian Shield in the northeast and fourthly the varied eastern region which includes the Appalachian Mountains and the coastal plains of the Atlantic seaboard and the Florida peninsula. Mexico falls mainly in the western region.
