Oceania Guide for Holidays
Oceania, mostly, is thought to extend from Sumatra in the west, the Bonin Island in the northwest, the Hawaiian Islands in the northeast, Sala y Gomez Island in the east and Macquarie Island in the south. In the geopolitical definition of Oceania the following states are not included: Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines and East Timor. Bonin is politically part of Japan, Hawaii part of the United States and Easter Island belonging to Chile. The sub region of Polynesia includes Samoa, Tonga, the Cook Islands and Tuvalu, whilst Micronesia includes the Gilbert, Mariana and Marshall Islands.
Australia is a region including Australia, Christmas Island, New Guinea and New Zealand. Therefore Oceania is a vast expanse of the world defined by the Pacific Ocean rather than land boundaries. Oceania travel destinations are known for gleaming white beaches, palm trees, amazing coral reefs and volcanic islands rising out of cerulean blue seas. There are international cities and remote places, history and excitement.
There are a range of facilities for tourists in the top Oceania tourist destinations. Visitors enjoy the famous Australian destinations of Sydney, Cairns, Melbourne, Tasmania or the Gold Coast or Great Barrier Reef. There are excellent beaches and beach resorts as well as top city attractions. New Zealand’s weather is at the best from November to April and the cities of Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch welcome visitors.
Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the amazing scenery and plentiful range of activities and beautiful scenery. Though Australasia is the most visited area of Oceania the Coral Coast in Fiji is also popular for the wonderful marine life in the crystal waters and its well-developed resorts and beaches. Bora Bora and Papeete in Tahiti are also tourist favourites, and Papua New Guinea, though rarely visited with its tropical rainforest and great scenery is certainly the place for an adventure holiday.
