Australia Hotels

Situated in the world’s southern hemisphere, Australia is known as the land of the kangaroo, billabong, boomerang and Koala bear. Countries that border Australia are the island of Tasmania, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, East Timor and New Zealand. The language of the almost twenty three million strong population is English and the capital city is Canberra. Many of the people are descendants of the indigenous Aboriginal people. However, over time, Australia was largely populated by people from Britain, Holland and elsewhere.

Australia is a vast land and, after many years, it’s hard to even scratch the surface of what’s on offer. Boasting a high annual temperature, most of Australia could be described as desert. However, be sure to pick an island such as say, “Kangaroo Island” or the Barrier Reef, to enjoy a peaceful, tranquil time scuba diving and exploring.

In the cities there’s amazing cricket of course, in Melbourne and no trip Down Under should leave out fabulous Sydney. The famous Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge will leave lasting memories, as will a trek into the Outback. As the locals might put it if you’re taking a trip to Oz, you should be as “excited as a frog in a sock!”.
