Barbados Hotels
Barbados is a relatively small, stunningly beautiful island found in the North Atlantic. It is known mainly for it tourist industry and its exotic beaches and relaxing holiday resorts. It was once part of the British colonies, though it has been independent of the UK since 1966. It has been part of many other countries colonies over the years and this provides for a rich supply of history on the island, including many monuments, buildings and plantations. There are many things to enjoy on the island – if the beaches aren’t exciting enough – there are helicopter rides, scuba diving, moving onto golf, wildlife reserves, as well as the more unusual cave exploration and a number of shopping locations which incorporate jewellery and designer clothes stores.
Barbados also hosts a large variety of festivals that run throughout the year with the biggest being the Crop Over (harvest) festival in July and August. Barbados is a classic place to visit, with it many attractions for a variety of tourist interests and with its wonderful tropical weather, the best being from December to May and the rainy season running from June to November. It provides tourists with a great escape from everyday life and is sure to be a holiday that will be remembered forever.

Places to visit in Barbados
Here are three suggestions for reasons to base your visit to Barbados
Barbados beaches
Youll be starting in the capital Bridgetown - see the colourful fishing boats and yachts. See the statue of Nelson in Heroes Square, shop in fine boutiques and department stores and generally enjoy the "Little England" of the Caribbean. The Barbadian beaches offer a paradise -each of the Barbadian diverse coasts gives a different environment. The West Coast has the exclusive resorts with clear white sand and crystal clear water - just right for swimming and water sports. The beaches here include Batts Rock and Paynes Bay in St James, Gibbs Beach in St Peter and Carlisle Bay just south of Bridgetown itself. The south coast has Silver Sands beach, a windsurfers favourite as well as Dover and Needhams point. But the Atlantic East coast is not for swimming - rugged waves and fine beaches and spectacular rock formations, its most popular for experienced surfers and sunbathers - especially the world famous Bathsheba.
Weddings and Honeymoons
Barbados is a favourite places for weddings - and especially now that there are no advance notice requirements to marry on the island, you could now marry on the day of your arrival - with no waiting period. There are so many choices of places to be married, perhaps a favourite resort, by the water, at a plantation estate, or deep underground in Harrisons cave? Have as memorable and romantic wedding as your imagination will take you! If you want to get married at home, then an island honeymoon in Barbados is as romantic as it can get - to fit your purse from inns, guesthouses or luxury hotels - but the scenery and beaches are as beautiful whatever you pay!
Sporty activity holidays
With Cricket as the national sport, why not enjoy an international match during the season at the Kensington Oval - or watch horse racing or polo at the Barbados Turf Club. More active? There are some fabulous golf courses and you can play year-round, as you can with tennis. Or try hiking and walking to see the island flora and fauna and historic places. The main sports, of course, must be the watersports on the beautiful coasts - scuba, snorkelling and skin diving on the coral reefs and wrecks, go sailing in a chartered yacht or go waterskiing or Parasailing.
