Brazil Hotels
Located on the eastern side of South America, Brazil is a vast country (the fifth largest in the world) with a massive population of over 195 million. It is the largest country on the continent of South America and shares borders with several countries, including Venezuela to the north, Peru to the west, Argentina to the south-west and Uruguay to the south. Brazil is rapidly becoming one of the fastest growing economies in the world. As a result of Portugal's colonisation of Brazil in the sixteenth century, Portuguese is the major language. Being such a huge country, Brazil has different climate zones.
Near to the equator in the north there is a wet and dry season, whilst further south from about Sao Paulo there are four seasons. The best weather is from April to September or July to October for the dry season in the Amazon. Three images spring to mind when thinking about holidays in Brazil: dancing, carnival and football.
Brazilians have a passion for all these things which infects anyone who visits this vibrant, fun-loving country. Brazil can offer gorgeous beaches for those who want to soak up the sun, swim in aqua-marine seas and party the night away. The capital Rio de Janeiro has some superb beaches, in fact, it has a distinct beach culture all of its own.
This vivacious city has fantastic all-year round weather, a stunning setting and spectacular sights like the towering Christ the Redeemer statue and the distinctive Sugar Loaf Mountain. Salvador, Bahia on the north-east coast of Brazil is a picturesque, sensual city which is an up and coming package holiday destination which hosts spectacular carnivals. For something completely different, Amazon jungle trips offer a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore a wild and natural landscape which is one of the world's greatest resources.
Getting to this exciting and action packed destination is a long-haul affair so it's probably worth spending at least 10 days and preferably more. Flights from the UK to Sao Paulo take about 11-12 hours.

Places to visit in Brazil
Here are three suggestions of places to base your visit to Austria
Vienna and Lower Austria
Not only is there wonderful scenery the cultural landscape is even richer. There are two World Cultural Heritage sites near Vienna - the Semmering Railway and the Wachau Valley, but also there are the sumptuous art treasures housed in over 600 collections, museums and monasteries. Former rulers of Lower Austria from the Romans to the castles and chateaus the legacy of the Babenburger and Habsburger lineage can be explored as well as the nature parks especially the two national parks Donau-Auen and Thayatal. And then there are the delights of Vienna itself....
The Winter Paradise of Salzburg
A wonderful centre for skiers Salzburg has over two thousand km of cross-country ski trails and skiers experience a fairytale landscape. Over 500 ski lifts and 22 different ski regions this is as good as it gets! For the rest of the time Baroque Salzburg has so much to see and do (especially eating). Home to the Salzburg Festivals see also the Cathedral and explore all the Mozart museums - and then have a ride on the Untersberg Cableway.
The Tyrol and Innsbruck
A wonderful centre for winter sports, for walkers and culture seekers, Innsbruck is a good place to start. In Tyrol, the "Land in the Mountains" explore the cobbled lanes of Innsbruck, visit St Anton/Arlberg (host of the Ski World Cup) Kitzbuhel (famous ski-race venue). Seefeld (centre for Snowboarding contests) or follow the hiking trails, visit the handicraft exhibitions and Wattens Crystal World, the Swarovski Crystal works.
