New Zealand Hotels
New Zealand, to the South West of neighbouring Australia, consists of three main islands (the North and South islands and the smaller Stewart Island to the south) and is best known for some of the most stunning scenery in the world and in recent years, has seen a surge in tourism (thanks in no small part to the Lord of the Rings film trilogy being filmed here). The diverse landscape includes vast mountain ranges, active volcanoes, crystal clear lakes and fjords, rapid rivers, clear white beaches and the South Island, being over two-thirds mountain range, in particular is a haven for outdoor adventurers with skiing, mountaineering, canoeing, rafting, hiking, mountain biking, bungee jumping just a few of the activities available. The main South Island city of Christchurch was hit by Earthquake in 2011 with much of its neo-gothic architecture destroyed but it is still a beautiful city well worth a visit. The North Island is home to the cosmopolitan city of Auckland, also the largest in New Zealand, which has a wealth of entertainment to experience in addition to its stunning Harbour and islands. Rotorua is home to geological wonders in its hot springs, mud pools and geysers whilst Tongariro National Park houses the stunning Tongariro, Ruapehu and Ngauruahoe mountains whilst Hawke Bay grows some of the finest wines in the world.
Wellington, the capital city, is the arts and cultural hub of New Zealand with world-class Symphony and Ballet alongside modern art and celebrations of traditional Maori culture.

Places to visit in New Zealand
Here are three suggestions for basing your visit to New Zealand
Auckland
Auckland, is a city at the side of the ocean, and is an urban settlement where everybody lives with half and hour of beautiful beaches, hiking routes and over a dozen holiday islands. It has a sunny climate, overtones of Polynesian culture, good food, good wine and good shopping. Its a brilliant centre for sailing round the more than 50 islands, trekking in the rainforest, visiting a volcano or wine tasting.
The Wellington Area
Wellington is New Zealands capital city and the centre of arts and culture - heritage buildings, museums and galleries and live entertainment. As well as the urban life Wellington is a centre for nature lovers - as it is between the ocean and forested hill visitors can enjoy the scenery or visit the wildlife sanctuaries, islands, local beaches
The Christchurch Area
There are two cities in the Christchurch region, Christchurch itself and Timaru, and here care has been take to preserve the grand architecture and historic homesteads and pristine parks of the colonial heritage - and these co-exits with the technology and style of the modern era. But the main attraction of the area must be the scenery - huge panoramas of ocean or mountains, and great pasturelands set off against the sky. The highest mountain, Mount Cook is the highest point of the region, and the lowest part the submarine trenches off the coast giving a permanent home to whales dolphins and seals.
