Serbia And Montenegro Hotels

Serbia and Montenegro (part of the former Yugoslavia) are now two republics, they were a union in Europe but this ceased in June 2006. Serbia and Montenegro are in the south east of Europe. Serbia is approximately 1053 miles from the United Kingdom, flying into the capital, Belgrade and to Montenegro’s capital, Prodgorica is approximately 1112 miles. Serbia is very beautiful and set in low hills whereas the majority of Montenegro is in high mountains. Serbia is a popular with tourists throughout all seasons of the year.

The capital, Belgrade, is one of the most popular places in Serbia that tourists love to visit, it is an extremely vibrant, exciting and cultural place as well as having an abundance of National Parks with spectacular scenery. In winter, Serbia is popular for skiing with many well-known mountain resorts, the season for skiing is between December and March. The climate for Serbia is generally continental, in the north particularly, where they enjoy hot summers and cold winters with heavy snowfall in the mountains.

Montenegro is increasingly becoming very popular with tourists, it is extremely beautiful with its mountain ranges, pretty coastal towns with stunning beaches and the spectacular Adriatic Sea. Along the coast, Montenegro enjoys a Mediterranean climate, summer is dry and hot and winter is generally cool and short, however, further inland, the winter is much colder and longer and summer is always much hotter but not as long. Ski season here is also between December and March.

Serbia’s official language is Serbian, spoken by the majority of the population and Albanian is another for a smaller percentage. The official language of Montenegro is now Montenegrin.
