Spain Hotels

To the north east of France, in south west Europe, Spain touches the Med, the Balearic seas and the Atlantic Ocean. Except for British owned Gibraltar, Spain is also bordered by Andorra and Portugal (to the west). With a population of around forty six million, Spain enjoys a dry climate with hot summers. Its nearby Balearic Islands draw large numbers of tourists each year to Ibiza, Mallorca, Tenerife and Lanzarote – to name but a few. The main language spoken is Castilian (Castellano), which is usually referred to as “Spanish”.

The capital city of Madrid is around 790 miles from London and home to the renowned Prado Museum. While in the capital, visit the Royal Palace and, if your ethics permit, the Vista Alegre or Las Ventas for a bullfight. The region of Andalusia is the home of flamenco dancing.

So get your castanets out and visit Granada – probably the most a-typical Spanish City. Chances are though, a trip to Spain for many will be to enjoy some of the over five thousand miles of stunning beaches, coastline and tourist hotels. La Concha Beach is considered one of the best beaches in Spain and it can be found just near the western end of the border with France.

Finally, enjoy the local Tapas and a refreshing Sangria – a light, wine-punch found in most and many of the local Tavernas! Ole!.
