Situated in Western Europe, Switzerland is a “landlocked” country bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein. A small country comprising of around 15,940 sq miles, it has a population of almost eight million people. The best time to visit for Skiing and winter sports between December and April, when the snow is great in the stunning Alps. This is where the Romansh language is spoken, it’s fast dying out. Be sure to visit the capital city of Berne, famous for its Bear pits, Rose Gardena and Onion market. Another must see is the stunningly beautiful lakes and houses in Geneva.
