Carthage and surroundings

Visit the hill of Byrsa where Carthage was founded by legendary Princess Dido, the newly restored former cathedral of Saint Louis which sits on top of the hill is now a museum and cultural centre. For a millennium, the Phoenicians ruled the Mediterranean and the port of Salammbo sheltered their ships. Visit Admirals island and see work of the reconstruction.
