Alabama Hotels United States

You’ll find the state of Alabama in the south east of the United States. Each part of it touches Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi (to the west) - and the Gulf of Mexico. It has the second largest amount of inland waterways in America and over four and a half million inhabitants. Unofficially Alabama has been given the nickname “Yellowhammer State” after the State Bird. It’s also home to the U.

Space and Rocket Centre in Huntsville which houses a museum dedicated to the hardware of the U.

space programme and the United States Space Camp. Head for Mobile if you can where, starting at Lent, you’ll catch the Mardi Gras celebrations which began way back in 1703, fifteen years before those in New Orleans. Everyone gets involved! While in Mobile you should steep yourself in the past at the Battleship Memorial park.

Over in Montgomery you can see the Civil Rights Memorial dedicated to the forty people who died fighting for equal rights for people of European and African descent. Stop off too in Anniston at the Museum of Natural History to explore the wonders and wilds of Africa and the North American wilderness of the past. You’ll see two thousand year old Mummies in seven amazing halls.

In Alabama Old Town you’re still able to see buildings that reveal how life was lived in the early 19th century and catch a show, if you can, at the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa. As far as food goes, try an evening at GooRoo’s Grill in Robertsdale if you’re passing, or head for the Gulf of Mexico down south. “After Ours” on Cove Avenue or “Big O’s Grill” both have great reputations at Gulf Shores.

If you fancy staying by the sea, try the Courtyard by Marriot or the Best Western on the Beach, at Gulf Shores. In Alabama there’s the Marriott Grand on Point Clear, or try the Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park or the Hilton Garden Inn Mobile, Daphne. Many State parks offer camping sites with great amenities.

You might try Buck's Pocket State Park, Lake Lurleen State Park or there’s loads of room at the Gulf State Park .
