Autonomous Region of Madrid Hotels Spain

The Autonomous Region of Madrid or more commonly known as the Community of Madrid is located in the centre of the country. Its south and eastern border is with Castile-La Mancha while to the north and west there is Castile and León. The city of Madrid is the provinces and the country’s capital. Although the city of Madrid is home to some five million people the region has some wonderfully unspoilt areas to explore. There are mountains that top out at around 2,000 meters, dense oak and pine tree forests and low lying plains.

The city lies in the centre of the region with the Sistema Central mountain ranges in the western point, Aranjuez town is in the south and in the east there are the fluvial river basins. The climate here is classified as Continental Mediterranean, the winter are cold with temperatures sometimes dipping below zero while the summers here tend to be hot with temperature regularly reaching 30 degrees and in July it can reach as high as 40 degrees. The region has no shortage of things to see and do some of the popular attractions include the Zoo Aquarium de la Casa de Campo in Madrid.

The capital has a large number of museums to visit such as the Prado Museum which has a huge collection of art. There is the Museo Naval and the Museo del Aire which is a military museum. The Royal Palace of Madrid is a must see as is the Convent of the Royal Barefoot Nuns.

For some family fun there is the Faunia theme park, the Warner Bros. Movie World, the Aquapolis and the Micropolix which is a an indoor city where kids can play and learn at the same time. Hotels in the region consist of the one star Hostal Los Alpes and the Stadmadrid.

While at two stars there is the Hostal Tijcal I, Hostal America and the Hotel Mediodia. Three star hotels include the Hotel Rex, Best Western Hotel Trafalgar and the Apartosuite Jardines de Sabatini. Four star accommodations include the Ada Palace, Catalonia Atoch and the Vincci Soho.
