Burgenland Hotels Austria

Burgenland is situated in the eastern most region of Austria; it is also the least populated area of the country. To the west of the state there is Niederösterreich and Steiermark, in the north east it has borders with Slovakia, Hungary is in the east and finally there is Slovenia in a southerly position. The capital of Burgenland is Eisenstadt. This state has a wide variety of elevations from only 114 meters above sea level to 884 meters at the peak of Geschriebenstein. It shares the Neusiedler See, a steppe lake, with Hungry it is the largest lake in the country and is a great source of tourism revenue.

The climate here is known as Pannonian with a continental influence, there are hot summers with mild to cool winters and a very low annual rainfall. Neusiedler See is a hot spot for tourist, it is a steppe lake which means that the water does not drain off into a river or stream at any point. The only water can leave this lake is either via evaporation or natural seepage.

The lake is popular for sailing, windsurfing and fishing. There are many castles in this Austrian state to explore such as Burg Bernstein which was built back in the 13th century, Burg Güssing is the oldest castle and was built around 1157 on an extinct volcano. Burg Schlaining was constructed in the 13th century while Riegersburg was originally built in 11th century but underwent renovation in the 17th century it is said to be the best preserved medieval castles in all of Europe.

This region of Austria also has a number hot springs; the average temperature of these springs is 36 degrees and they are full of minerals hat can have therapeutic properties. Familypark Neusiedlersee is a popular destination; it is a fun filled family theme park with something for all ages. Hotels in this region of Austria start with the one star Pension Hauswirth in Kittsee.

Three star hotels include Hotel Ungarische Krone in Bruckneudorf, Hotel Angerer in Grossmutschen and Golfblick Hotel Garni in Stegersbach. At four stars there is the Pannonia Tower in Parndorf, Hotel Burgenland in Eisenstadt and the Thermen- & Vitalhotel Bad Tatzmannsdorf in Bad Tatzmannsdorf.
