Colorado Hotels United States

Colorado Colorado is a US state that includes much of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern part of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great plains. Colorado has a population of around 5 million. Colorado shares northern borders with Wyoming and Nebraska, eastern borders by Nebraska and Kansas and southern borders with New Mexico and Oklahoma, whilst Utah is on the west. The meeting of the four states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah meet at one point called Four corners. Colorado has no natural borders.

Colorado is noted for its stunning landscapes of mountains, plains, mesas and canyons and is the only US state that lies entirely above 1000 metres. The summit of Mount Elbert at 4401m is its highest point and the lowest point where the Arikaree River flows out of Yuma County into Kansas. Nearly one third of the area of Colorado is flat or rolling land, contrasting with the rugged Rocky Mountains, whilst east of the Rocky Mountains are the Colorado Eastern Plains.

The Colorado plains are often thought of as prairies but they do have patches of deciduous forests, and eastern Colorado is mainly farmland with livestock raising. Colorado’s most populous city and capital is Denver home to more than 60% of the state’s residents. Visitors flock to Colorado for the winter season, as it is famous for winter sports: they may wish to go skiing, snowboarding, ride snowmobiles, sleds, sleighs or wear snowshoes –whatever it is, Colorado provides for it ! In addition to this there are celebrations in cities and towns with shopping, art, music and theatre.
