Hawaii Hotels United States
Hawaii, is in the centre of the Pacific Ocean and is the only state in America to be completely made up from islands. You’ll find it southwest of the USA and southeast of Japan. It’s comprised of eight “main islands” - Niihau, Kauai, O’ahu, Molokai, L?nai, Kahoolawe, Maui, and Hawaii. Naturally beautiful, and famous for luaus and hula dancing, Hawaii boasts a great, tropical climate. The capital is Honolulu on the island of Oahu.
The whole of Hawaii State comprises of hundreds of tiny islands spreading over 1,500 miles. Captain James Cook landed in the 18th century, but during the Second World War Hawaii was the target for the surprise attack on Pearl Harbour, by the Japanese, in 1941. Fantastic beaches abound on all the islands of Hawaii.
On Honolulu, Waikiki Beach area is popular and the Old Harbour is now a modern development. Known as “The Gathering Place” Oahu’s most popular attraction is Pearl Harbour. Free tours take tourists to the scene of Japan’s surprise attack where 1,177 men perished.
On Hawaii, the “Big Island,” visit the extraordinary “Hawaii Volcanoes National Park”, one of the natural wonders of the world. Mount Kilauea often erupts and Mauna Loa is the largest mountain mass in the world. Tour “The Magic Isle of “Maui to see the waterfalls at Waialua Cove and the Ka’eleku Caverns, near the Hana Rainforest.
Head on to Lanai for its petroglyph rock carvings and the mystical Garden of the Gods and continue onto the island of Molokai. There you can relax in the harbour town of Kaunakakai, sampling the fascinating shops. Head for the stunning Moaulu Falls and Mount Kamakou.
Kauai is known as ‘Hawaii’s Island of Discovery’ and boasts a wonderful waterfall 2 miles up in the Hanakapiai Valley and really “laid back” beaches. While there be sure to try a lau lau - a true Hawaiian entree. It is consists of pork shoulder, chicken or vegetables, wrapped in 6 or 7 taro leaves and heated in an underground oven!To go “Tiki” and really enjoy Hawaii try to stay at the Lahaina on Maui or the Makai Inn Kaunakakai or you might go to Molokai’s Hotel Molokai! Splash out a bit more and go for the Hilton Waikoloa Village or you might try the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa, Kailua-Kona.
