Above all though, La Rioja is the centre of a wine producing area and it’s always good to visit during the annual “Battle of the Wines” in the City of Haro.

Hire a car in La Rioja and you can drive to the exciting mountains of Tierra de Cameros, in the south. There you’ll find amazing caves and true adventure. Culture vultures will enjoy the Santo Domingo de la Calzada Cathedral, built in the 12th century and you can get lost in a labyrinth of mediaeval lanes.
