Maryland Hotels United States
Maryland is a U. state that shares borders with Virginia, West Virginia, Columbia, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Sometimes called the “Free State” or the “Old Line State”, it’s located on the eastern shoreline of the South Atlantic area of the U.
Maryland is famous for its biotechnology companies. There are more than three hundred and fifty in the region, which is also a centre for research into Life Sciences. Be sure to visit the Maryland Zoo and the “Dime Museum” in Baltimore and see the birds and beautiful nature of Herring Run Park.
One thing Baltimore and the whole of Maryland is famous for is its Blue Crabs. There a must! Baltimore, Maryland, and its historic inner harbour, has played a large part in the history of Slavery as you’ll see on a trip to the famous Peale Museum on Holiday Street. It’s the oldest museum building still standing in the western hemisphere.
Also view the Battle Monument Plaza on Calvert and Lexington and shop at the local markets. The grave of the writer Edgar Allan Poe is located in Baltimore as is his house, now a museum. Into sports? Check out the Lacrosse Museum on West University Parkway.
Be sure to take in Annapolis on Chesapeake Bay and take in views of the largest estuary, in Maryland. South of Laurel, in Prince George’s county, you’ll discover the Georgian style Montpelier Mansion, built around 1781 and now a National Historic Landmark. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum will get you on track for a trip down memory lane before a top night out.
Head north for the Crystal Grotto Caverns and the atmospheric Antietam National Battlefield. By night, book a table at Obrycki’s Crab House, the Rusty Scupper on Key Highway or Philip’s Harbourplace where the crab cakes are to die for. Don’t forget Blue Crabs – they’re a must in Maryland.
Camping throughout Maryland – it just comes naturally! Book in at the Double G RV Park or Capitol KOA Campground in Millersville. Splash some cash for a stay at “Aloft” Washington National Harbour, eleven miles from downtown Washington.
and there’s also the InterContinental Harbour Court Baltimore.
