Massachusetts Hotels United States

Massachusetts can be found in the north-eastern region of the United States within the area known as New England. It has borders with Rhode Island and Connecticut in the south; New York sits on its western side; the Atlantic covers it eastern bordered while Vermont and New Hampshire make up its northern border. The capital of this state is Boston. The state has a number of geological areas such as the uplands which increase in height the further north/west you go; with the highest point being Mount Greylock 3; 491 feet. The peninsula known as Cape Cod has two small islands just of its coast; Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

The majority of the people who live in the state reside in Boston’s metropolitan area. The region has a humid continental climate which has long warm summers and cold winters. The state has a number of living and many dead people that have become famous for one reason or another and across the state there are museums; memorial and monuments honouring them.

There is so much to see and do in this state that the following is only a few highlights for the main areas and not a complete listing. Attractions in Boston include the Museum of Science which has exhibits from space to the age of the dinosaur. There is the John F.

Kennedy Presidential Museum & Library; Trinity Church; Castle Island; Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the New England Holocaust Memorial. In Cambridge there is the of course Harvard University; the Harvard Museum of Natural History; Longfellow National Historic Site; Brattle Square and the Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

In Salem there is the Hocus Pocus Tours; Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery; Nightmare Factory; Salem Witch Memorial; New England Pirate Museum and the Salem Willows Amusement Park. On the two islands there is alos no shortage of things to see and do. On the Martha’s Vineyard there is the Martha's Vineyard Historical Society; Flying Horses Carousel theme park; Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and the Ghosts; Gossip and Downright Scandal Walking Tours.

While on Nantucket there is a Whaling Museum; Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge; Brant Point Lighthouse; Nantucket Historical Association Walking Tours as well as numerous beaches. Hotels in the state are as varied as the attractions; in Boston there is the two star Chandler Inn and the three star Marriott's Custom House. While at four stars there is the Fairmont Battery Wharf and at five stars there is the Boston Harbour Hotel.

On Martha’s Vineyard there is the three star Harbour View Hotel & Resort as well as a number of unrated hotels such as the quaintly named The Hob Knob. Most of the main towns and cities have a good supply of hotels to choose from with a decent variety in price and location.
