Nevada Hotels United States
Nevada Nevada is a state of the United States of America situated in the western and southwestern regions of the US. It is also a Mountain State. The northern border of Necada is with Oregon and Idaho, whilst Utah is to the east, Arizona to the south east, and California is to the west. The state boundary between Nevada and California is 640km, starting in Lake Tahoe and continuing to the Colorado River where the Nevada, California and Arizona borders meet. Geographically Nevada comprises the Great Basin in the north and the Mojave Desert in the south, though the terrain is broken up by a number of north-south mountain ranges.
These ranges, some of which have peaks above 4000m, have rich forests high above the desert plains, making sky islands for many endemic species. The valleys are often still around 900m. The area surrounding Las Vegas, the southern part of the state is within the Mojave Desert.
Altogether Nevada has 172 mountain summits at 610m or more, and is the most mountainous state after Alaska. Though Las Vegas is Nevada’s most famous place for tourists, there is plenty more to see, including the scenic Lake Tahoe and Reno’s playland and outdoor attractions. Outdoor enthusiasts will also want to visit Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park or Pyramid Lake to follow interests such as hiking and biking and fishing and hunting.
Nevada has some excellent venues for snowsports whether in the 15 resorts in Lake Tahoe to the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort to the snowmobiling and heli-skiing in north eastern Nevada. History sleuths will enjoy investigating the historic mining towns of Tonopath and Virginia City. Las Vegas really needs no introduction, and is known to be a premier tourist attraction.
The mega resorts lining the strip have much more to offer than gambling, whether its designer fashions at Caesars Palace , or sandy beaches and wave pool at Mandalay Bay or amazing rides at Circus Circus - and much more !.
