Oregon Hotels United States

Oregon Oregon is a Pacific Northwest state in the United States of America. It is situated on the Pacific coast with Washington State to the north, California to the south, Nevada on the southeast and Idaho on the east. The Colombia river outlines much of Oregon’s northern border and the Snake river, the east. Oregon has a varied landscape including the exposed Pacific coastline, the volcanoes of the Cascade Mountain range which include glaciers. Mount Hood is the highest mountains in the state at 3429m.

There are also dense evergreen forests and high desert covering much of the eastern part of the state. East from central Oregon there are scrublands, prairies, deserts and meadows. The Willamette Valley in Western Oregon is home to eight of the ten largest cities.

Salem is the state’s capital and Portland the most populous city with a metropolitan population of around 2. 3 million. Oregon’s climate is influenced by the Pacific Ocean (especially in the west): it is generally mild but there can be periods of extreme hot or cold.

Rainfall varies considerably from the wet coastal slopes to the dry eastern deserts. Visitors in Oregon like to visit Portland and its environs, but also popular are the skiing, hiking and windsurfing in the Mount Hood area. The 362 miles of coast is a traveller’s pleasure with fishing villages and lighthouses, whilst the scenery of Eastern Oregon – of Hell’s Canyon and the Painted Hills-is well worth a visit.
