Rhode Island Hotels United States
Rhode Island is a State in the New England area, quite far north on the eastern seaboard of America. It was the first of the thirteen colonies to declare independence from the United Kingdom and the last to ratify the US Constitution. The state was colonised in 1636 with Roger Williams who had been banished from another area and settled in Narragansett Bay after buying it from the Narragansett tribe. Rhode Island offers a multitude of activities for all tourists, whether they are looking an active holiday or a relaxing one, there are even enough different attractions for tourists to have a full sporting holiday. Those after a relaxing holiday can chill out on their choice of over 100 beaches that have designated in the area.
The beaches offer a range of facilities from gift shops on to food and bars, some allow pets and smoking, others have swimming facilities as well as the sea. Visitors can then move onto a relaxing spa resort to unwind after the stresses of the beach before going onto the many restaurants and wine bars that are littered throughout the state. Any tourists who want a sporting holiday can indulge in the many activities available.
These cover water sports, biking, hiking, hunting, through the more sedate golfing and nature trails. These can allow visitors to see parts of the state that might not normally be accessible by car or tour bus. The state also offers a number of farms and gardens, as well as bird watching sanctuaries with nature walks and heritage trails that document the rich history of the region.
This allows tourists to explore the past experiences of the cities and towns within Rhode Island, their history and the culture. Rhode Island has a strong cultural background and interest which shows through in the number of events that are on during the year. There are art galleries, museums, a large selection of sports that non-American visitors might find an interesting alternative to the normal sports shown commonly in Europe, along side a huge variety of performance arts centres.
Rhode Island offers any tourist a rich variation of entertainment, all through the day and long into the night. It has something for everyone and is sure to be a delightful holiday destination for anyone looking for a fun filled vacation.
