State of Arunachal Pradesh Hotels India
The State of Arunachal Pradesh is situated in the north-eastern province of India. The state borders Burma and its towns and villages reflect the mixture of architectural influences as many Burmese citizens have settled in Arunachal Pradesh over the years. The town of Along has many interesting historical features, such as bridges and waterways, fishing opportunities, and relaxation spots. The village of Daporijo offers many hiking trails as well as the chance to observe the local people and their folk customs. Itanagar is a significant town because it contains important Buddhist artefacts and places of worship and it truly reflects the Tibetan and Burmese influences this district has received in the past.
Visitors can learn about the history of the town in the Jawaharlal Nehru Museum. The town of Tawang is another significant Buddhist site as it contains the Tawang Monastery, which has a library containing a vast collection of ancient scriptures. The state does not have a huge range of hotels to choose from because it is fairly remote, but it does have a small handful of charming hotels and guesthouses.
The two-star WelcomHeritage Pemaling Hotel is somewhat of a ‘hidden gem’, as its location being off the beaten track means that it has not yet been discovered by too many tourists, leaving it a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Rooms are compact yet functional and comfortable and have all of the basic amenities needed during your stay. However, it is in a remote location so car hire is essential but rooms are very reasonably priced.
The Hotel Tawang Inn is situated near to the monastery and is in a great location in terms of sightseeing. The hotel has a small restaurant and meals are included in the room price – which is extremely reasonable. Rooms on the upper floors have fantastic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and the hotel itself is within easy reach of Tawang town centre.
Be aware that the remote location means that electricity supply is rather erratic and there are no street lights so it is wise to carry a torch with you if you are venturing out at night.
