State of Haryana Hotels India
Haryana is a state in northern India whose borders include those with the Punjab and Rajasthan. It also borders the city of Delhi on three sides. The state capital is Chandigarh which incidentally is also the capital of the Punjab region. Haryana was once home to the ancient Vedic and Indus Valley civilizations and is nowadays a major contributor to India’s grain and milk supply due to its abundance of flat, arable land. The area is inclined to very hot summers and cold winters.
Most of the rain falls between July and September when localised flooding can sometimes occur. As a consequence of its rich history, there is a wealth of tourist attractions in the state. At Pinjore, where the Jhajjar and Kaushalya rivers meet, are the 17th century Yadavindra Gardens with its beautiful terraces and fountains.
Close by is the Bhima Devi Temple, the remains of which were discovered by archaeologists in the 1970s. The site comprises a group of temples which are believed to date back to the 9th century and have well preserved art work depicting Hindu Gods and Goddesses. At Ballabgarh, about 15km from Delhi, is the Raja Nahar Singh Palace which was built for Rao Balram, an 18th century ruler of the area.
The palace is now open to the public and hosts various events throughout the year. There are even six beautifully decorated guest bedrooms in the palace. In addition to numerous temples and pilgrim centres in Haryana State, other places to visit include the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, the Kalesar Wildlife Park and the ancient town of Jhajjar, near the modern city of Gurgaon.
There is plenty of hotel accommodation in the State of Haryana, both in the cities and in more rural settings. The Hotel Sun Part Chandigarh is a well reviewed three star hotel which is convenient for the airport and exploring the state capital. If you are splashing out then the Trident Hotel in Gurgaon is a splendid luxury option.
This resort hotel boasts excellent facilities, including a Japanese Sushi restaurant, swimming pool and Spa in a tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
