State of Kerala Hotels India
The State of Kerala can be found in the south-western coast, it is bordered by Tamil Nadu in the south and southeast while Lakshadweep Sea is in the west. The capital of this state is Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) and Kochi and Kozhikode are two other major cities in the state. The state is sandwiched between the Lakshadweep Sea and the Western Ghats which is a mountain range. The coastline here measures over 350 miles in total while the width of this state varies from 22 miles at its thinnest to 75 miles at its thickest. The climate for this region is known as equatorial tropical, the average daily temperatures for this type of climate are 27 to 30 degrees throughout the year.
This state has three distinct regions not only for landscape but for climate as well; the eastern highlands which is made up of mountainous terrain and the temperatures tend to be somewhat cooler. In the central region it is mainly rolling hills while at the coastal regions are mostly made up of low lying plains, the coastal regions are warmer than the inland areas of this state. Kerala has become very popular in recent years with tourists and it also has a great number of things to do and places to see other than spending the entire time on one of its glorious beaches.
In the capital there is the Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Neyyar Wild Life Sanctuary and Trivandrum Zoo. In Kochi there is the Paradesi Synagogue, Vega Land Amusement Park, Cochin Spice Market, Mattancherry Palace and the Carnival Tours Backwater Cruise. Other attractions around the state include the Rajamalai (Eravikulam) National Park in Munnar, Edakkal Caves in Wayanad and the Revi Karunakaran Museum which is home to the world’s largest collection of swarowski crystals.
As tourism is big business here there are a number of excellent resorts and hotels dotted along the coastline and some further inland these include the two star Preeth Beach Resort in Varkala, the Palmleaves Beach Resort in Trivandrum and the Green Palace Kerala Resort in Alappuzha. At three stars there is the Old Harbour Hotel in Kochi, Abad Whispering Palms Lake Resort in Kumarakom and the Travancore Heritage in the capital. Four star hotels include the Vivanta by Taj - Kovalam, Kerala in Kovalam, the Vivanta by Taj – Kovalam in the capital and The Elephant Court in Thekkady.
While at the five star level there is the The Leela Kempinski Kovalam Beach in Kovalam and the The Zuri Kumarakom in Kumarakom.
