State of Uttar Pradesh Hotels India

The State of Uttar Pradesh, sometimes known as U. or Uttam Pradesh is a state in the northern part of India. It shares a border with Nepal and has Lucknow as its capital. It is home to a number of important religious sites and buildings, including the world famous Taj Mahal and the Chaukhandi Stupa where Buddha met his first disciples and the town of Kushinagar where the Gautama Buddha died.

Uttar Pradesh has a long and colourful history. It has been through many kingdoms, seen different rulers and invading forces, it has passed through many realms and reigns and has come out of it wonderfully intact with a great sense of pride in the their culture. The state even through all these changes has maintained its independence of spirit and has continued to follow its own important religions, mostly Hinduism and Buddhism and has built up a stunning area to visit.

There are many festivals and fairs held throughout the year in the villages and town within the state. They are wonderfully vibrant celebrations and a truly marvellous sight to behold and it is hard to go to one without getting caught up in the gaiety and excitement of the event. Alongside the upbeat excitement of the festivals there are many other attractions to the area that are a little more sedate.

There are a number of heritage houses available for viewing and some of these also offer accommodation. The larger towns also offer a selection of museums charting the history of the state and India as a whole, as well as the people and religions that are based there. Tourists looking for an organised holiday itinerary can take advantage of the many tourist circuits that have been arranged to showcase various aspects of the state.

They are mostly religious circuits at present that go through all the important sites for each religion, so you can choose which you would like to learn more about, or which means the most to you. Anyone looking for the opportunity to view the amazing collection of wildlife in India has the opportunity to do so in a large number of sanctuaries and reserves set within the plains that stretch through most of the state. They offer the chance to see beautiful animals and birds in their natural environment and many focus on just a few in order to protect their ecosystems.

The accommodation range in the state is stunning, not just in range, but also in the quality of the environment. There are some unusual hotels set in lovely locations, on rivers and in the town centres. They are sumptuously decorated and offer a range of services within each of the complexes.
