Thessaly Hotels Greece

Thessaly is a large area of Greece, situated on its east coast, and it borders the Aegean Sea. The region also includes a small cluster of islands called the Sporades Islands. The region of Thessaly is packed with historical and interesting tourist attractions and sites of significance. The area of Magnesia has a large stretch of sandy beach and is known locally as being an important craft centre in the area. Mount Pelion is an archaeological site with many caves around it.

Its steep inclines offer very challenging hiking trails, which are ideal for avid walkers. The area surrounding Mount Pelion, known as the Circuit of Mount Pelion, there are many small towns and villages with art galleries, culinary attractions and skiing opportunities in the winter months. On the Sporades Islands, there are many vast natural areas, caves, archaeological ruins and abandoned monasteries.

The island of Meteora has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers lots of hiking opportunities. The region of Thessaly has a myriad of guesthouses and hotels for visitors to choose from but among the most popular is Dellas Boutique Hotel in Kalambaka, close to Meteora. Guests are welcomed upon arrival with a glass of wine and a large bowl of fruit placed in their room.

Some rooms have balconies and typically overlook the hotel’s courtyard and surrounding area. Breakfast is included in the room price and is plentiful. It includes typical European-style cuisine as well as some locally produced products to make your stay authentically Greek.

Another popular hotel is the Pyrgos Adrachti Hotel, located in Kastraki. It has a fitness centre, a business centre and breakfast is included in the room price. Rooms are spacious, reasonably priced and have fantastic views of the surrounding area.

The hotel is situated close to the mountains of Meteora and is only a five minute walk away from the nearest bus station. Thessaly has a vibrant evening scene as its many towns are packed with bars, pubs and night clubs. Many hotels have their own entertainment and bar areas but this may come at a premium.
