Wales is part of Great Britain and is located to the west of the island. Wales is a very mountainous place especially in the north. There are off shore islands that are also a part of Wales, the largest being Anglesey. Wales has over a thousand kilometres of coast line and the region is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Irish Sea. Wales in one of the wettest regions in the whole of Europe, it is considered to have a maritime climate.

The capital of Wales is Cardiff. Errding Hall is a wonderful attraction in Wales, a fabulous display of eighteenth century archiological design with many Victorian features. Picton Castle is yet another Welsh gem to see be marvelled.

Originating in the thirteenth century, its current occupants are descendants of the man who designed the castle, Sir John Wogan. A great National Park to visit on a trip to Wales is the National Park Brecon, it really captures Wales’ heritage. There are very many adventure courses available on a trip to Wales due to its vast coastline and terrain.

You can find opportunities for surfing in Llanberis and paragliding in Abergavenny. Snowdonia is a particularly beautiful part of the region. Greenwood Forest Park can be found in Snowdonia and is a great place for families.

Other features of the area are the Tywyn Railway and the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway. Cardiff boasts an array of attractions too. The Llandaff Ghost Walk is always a popular choice as is the National History Museum and Cardiff Bay.
