Wyoming Hotels United States
Wyoming is a state in the western region of America; it has Montana in the north, Utah and Colorado in the south. On its eastern side sits South Dakota and Nebraska while on the west there is Idaho and a small section of Utah. The state is divided between two main landscapes; in the west it is generally mountainous due to having the foothills of the Eastern Rocky Mountains in its domain. The eastern half of the state is known as the High Plains. The state has two climates, semi-arid and continental and its capital is Cheyenne.
The average summer temperatures here range from 26 to 31 degrees while winter months can range from 3 down to -17 degrees. The state has the Wind River Indian Reservation which is home to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes. The tribes have a fifty percent interest each in the land and all of the resources the reservation includes.
Some of the notable parks, monuments and historical sites in this state include the world famous Yellowstone National Park, Devils Tower National Monument, the Pony Express National Historical Trail and the National Elk refuge. Some of the major attractions in the capital include Nelson Museum of the West, Big Boy Steam Engine which is the world’s largest steam engine ever made and the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum. Laramie has the Wyoming Territorial Prison and Old West Park which is a recently refurbished prison and historic village, get a taste for the old west here with something for all the family.
The Laramie Plains Museum is about pioneer life in the region and the Medicine Bow National Forest has plenty of outdoor sports in offer as well as camping and stunning walks and views. Hotels in the capital include the two star Candlewood Suites Cheyenne which has had excellent reviews. The three star hotels include Cheyenne Marriott Springhill Suites and The Historic Plains Hotel.
Laramie has the one star 1st Gold Inn and the two star Super 8 Motel. Three star hotels include the Hilton Garden Inn Laramie and the Holiday Inn Laramie.
